UPDATE: Arrest Warrant Issued in Murder Case

Police confirm they are looking for Terry Doddy, a co-worker of the murder victim
UPDATE (4:50pm):  Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Terry Doddy for murder.  Doddy was a co-worker of the victim at the QVSM call center.

36-year-old Doddy faces three counts of murder with a bond of $1 million.  He is also wanted on an aggravated domestic battery warrant, and is at large.  He believed to be in possession of Mr. Hansmeier’s black 2011 Chevrolet Cruze with Illinois registration L611935.

Police ask that if either Mr. Doddy or the vehicle is observed do not approach, but call 911. 

UPDATE (3:42pm): The coroner's office reveals Hansmeier died from a traumatic neck and head injury.

UPDATE (7/1/14): The Winnebago County Coroner's Office has identified the murder victim as 37 year-old Todd Hansmeier.  An autopsy is pending.

UPDATE (1:15pm): Rockford Police is now considering this case a homicide.  The victim is a white male and he was partially burned.  The victim's identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of the family.

ROCKFORD - Firefighters make a grisly find while responding to a call.

Firefighters were responding Monday morning to a call at 320 N. Alpine Road.  Once they went inside, a body was found inside.  Rockford Police call the death suspicious, but have not ruled it a homicide.

We have a crew heading to the scene and we'll have more as it develops.
