BELVIDERE (WTVO) -- A Chrysler spokesperson tells Eyewitness News that production at the Belvidere plant shutdown for five hours after an accident at nearby supplier, Ventra.

Spokesperson Jodi Tinson says that an accident at the supplier forced Chrysler to "short shift" around 10pm last night, eventually sending workers home at 1am. Tinson says as of 6am production at both plants were scheduled to be up and running.

Ventra officials have yet to comment on the nature of the accident at the plant.
