UPDATE: Rockford Police Charge Man Shot Four Times

ROCKFORD - A bad day gets even worse for a shooting victim.
UPDATE (6/26/14): The shooting victim is identified as 18 year-old John Duckett.  Police say six gunshots were fired at him, but only four hit.  Duckett is expected to survive.  However, further investigation into Duckett's background determined he was wanted for a parole violation.  He's also facing a new charge of unlawful use of weapons by a felon.

Police are still looking for the shooter.

ROCKFORD - Police investigate a drive-by shooting on the city's southeast side Wednesday night.

It happened around 9pm near 17th Avenue and 4th Street.  Police say a dark colored vehicle approached the victim and a person inside opened fire.  The victim was hit several times and he was taken to the hospital.  Police say he was conscious upon arrival.

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call the Rockford police.
