Fred Van Vleet and Shockers beat Ohio State, move to Final Four.

It's incredibly improbable for a No. 9 seed team to advance to the Final Four. Almost as improbable as a freshman point guard running the offense and scoring a crucial bucket against one of the toughest defenses in the country. Yet Rockford native and Auburn High grad Fred Van Vleet and the Wichita State Shockers made both of those things happen with a 70-66 win over Ohio State.

Van Vleet was sensational, scoring 13 points, and hitting a jumper that clanged around the rim before falling with less than a minute remaining. Van Vleet also carried the ball up the court and ran the offense in the final minutes, all while being guarded by Aaron Kraft, widely regarded as the best defensive point guard in the nation.

Wichita State also got big games from Cleanthony Early (12 points, 7 rebounds) and Malcolm Armstead (14 points, 7 rebounds) en route to the win.

The Shockers have booked their ticket to the Final Four in Atlanta. They await the winner of the Duke - Louisville Elite 8 game.
