What It is Like Driving to the Orange Bowl

We sent Ben Hutchison to Miami by car.  Here's what he encountered along the way.

MIAMI BEACH -- So are you driving to see the NIU Huskies play in the Orange Bowl? According to mapquest, the drive from DeKalb to Miami Beach is approximately 1450 miles and would take the average person nearly 24 hours through Nashville, Atlanta, Orlando and eventually, into Miami Beach.

In fact, students heading on more than two-dozen buses going to the game will make the trip in just about 24 hours, stopping only for driver changes mandated by federal commercial bus regulations.

Our own Ben Hutchison drew the short straw heading to Miami. We needed someone to drive to haul all the gear we'll need to bring you live coverage throughout the week, and so Ben left Sunday for a Tuesday night arrival. Click on the story to see what he encountered along the way. And no, we're not sure what that drink in his had is.
