ILLINOIS - The odds of motorists crashing into a deer are going down.

In fact, the chances of hitting a deer in Illinois are 1:214, that's better compared to last year, when it was 1:162.

Those odds are according to State Farm.

The state drivers are most likely to hit a deer are in West Virginia, a distinction they've held for the last seven years.  Montana, Iowa, South Dakota, and Pennsylvania round out the top five.

Illinois ranks 32nd.
