CHICAGO - The government shutdown delays a key statewide report on jobs.
The shutdown hampered Illinois' efforts to put out the latest employment report. It would've been released Friday.
"Although we are pleased that congress reached an agreement to reopen the federal government" says Illinois Dept. of Employment Security Director Jays Rowell, "this shutdown is not without consequences.
IDES receives nearly all of its funding from the federal government.
Also, The economic report originally set to be released Oct. 24 will also be delayed. "Congress must stop these self-inflicted economic wounds."
