Firefighters Battle Blaze and Live Wires at Rockford Home

UPDATE -- Fire officials say the home that went up in flames was vacant.
UPDATE (10:38 pm) -- Fire officials say the home that went up in flames was vacant. No one was injured during the incident. It took crews about a half hour to extinguish the blaze. The fire is believed to have cause the live wire incident. No one lost power because of it. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.


ROCKFORD- Crews are on the scene of a house fire on the city's southeast side.

Firefighters were called to a house on 16th Avenue near 9th Street about around 9:45 Wednesday night. Besides the flames, crews were forced to battle live wires at the home also.
