Florida State Wins BCS Title Game

Florida State rallied to beat Auburn Monday for college football's national championship.
PASADENA, CA-Florida State is back on top of college football for the first time since 2000. The Semioles defeated Auburn 34-31 Monday night for the BCS Championship. That capped off a 14-0 season for the Seminoles.

Florida State trailed 21-3 in the second quarter. They closed the gap to 21-10 at halftime. The Seminoles were at their best in the fourth quarter when they outscored the Tigers 21-10.

Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston lofted a two yard touchdown pass to 6'5 receiver Kelvin Benjamin with :13 seconds to play for the game winning touchdown. Also in that fourth quarter Florida State got a touchdown on a 100 yard kickoff return by Levonte Whitfield.

Winston started slow but finished with 237 yards passing and two touchdowns. Auburn running back Tre Mason rushed for 195 yards and one touchdown.

Florida State's victory snaps the SEC's run of seven consecutive national champions.
