Forest City Leaders Talk 2014 Budget

The Forest City is in the red, but aldermen and the mayor are hoping an increase in revenue helps compensate for the deficit.
ROCKFORD- City council met today to discuss the budget for 2014 which is projected to be $129.2 million dollars. That’s $12 million dollars higher than last year.

Nearly 70% of that number is going towards salary and benefits.

The city is expecting a deficit of $2.5 million dollars. However, they took in more money than projected for last year's revenue so that number can change.
