ROCKFORD - The price to fill up your car is going down, leaving your wallets lined with a little extra holiday cash.
The average price for gasoline in the Forest City is $3.20/gal, down five cents from last week. While most people prefer snowy weather stays away, it's actually helping to lower prices.
"Under conditions like that, consumer demand usually declines and that often results in a nominal decrease in retail gas prices" says Gregg Laskoski, Senior Petroleum Analyst at GasBuddy.com.
Compared to this time last year, gas prices are currently 18 cents per gallon lower.
