Gay Marriage Legalized in Illinois

CHICAGO - Gay couples will soon be able to marry in Illinois.
CHICAGO - Gay couples will soon be able to marry in Illinois.

Gov. Pat Quinn put pen to paper at a signing ceremony at the University of Illinois Chicago Wednesday.  Illinois becomes the 16th state to legalize gay marriage.  However, the law doesn't take effect until next june.

Hundreds of people attended the signing.  Others outside the UIC were celebrating.
