Girls Sectional Track 5/10/12

Hononegah's Courtney Clayton leads a group of NIC-10 athletes who have qualified for State.
Rockton, Illinois-Hononegah runner Courtney Clayton will return to the 3A Girls State Track & Field Meet next weekend.  Clayton dominated the sprint events again Thursday evening at Hononegah.

Clayton won the 400 meter dash in 56.26 seconds.  She won the 800 meter dash by a commanding five seconds with a time of 2:12.94.  Clayton also helped Hononegah's 4x100 relay team to a third place finish.  And she anchored Hononegah's 4x400 relay team to a second place finish.

Other top local finishers were Harlem's Leah Raffety (2nd in 1600m), Guilford's Sheontay Edgeston (2nd in long jump) and Belvidere North's Katie Dovenmuehle (2nd in shot put).
