Illini Edge Indiana In Overtime

The Illini won their Big Ten opener Tuesday over Indiana 83-80.
CHAMPAIGN-The Fighting Illini's Big Ten season is off to a rousing start. The Illini edged Indiana 83-80 in overtime Tuesday afternoon in Champaign.

Guard Rayvonte Rice led the Illini again with 29 points. He scored 11 of those at the free throw line. Rice also had eight rebounds and three steals. Tracy Abrams added 17 points, and Joseph Bertrand added 13.

The Illini had 12 steals, but they were badly outrebounded 34-46.

The Illini raise their rcord to 12-2. Their next game will be Saturday afternoon at home against Penn State.
