Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) calls for U.S. military action against Syria on the Senate Floor in Washington, D.C.
He wants to authorize limited military action against Syria in order to deter the use and proliferation of chemical weapons. "What will the world do" Durbin rhetorically asked during the hearing. "It is time for others to stand up and join us in stopping the advancement and use of chemical weapons once and for all."
Last week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved a resolution authorizing the limited use of force in Syria. Durbin, a member of that committee, voted in favor of an attack.
