Lieutenant Marc Welsh Calls it a Career With the Rockford Police Department

ROCKFORD - After over 27 years with the force Lieutenant Marc Welsh has decided to retire.
ROCKFORD - After serving the Rockford Police Department for over 27 years, Lieutenant Marc Welsh is hanging up the uniform.

The Lieutenant started working for Rockford Police back in September of 1987. Since then, he's served numerous roles including patrol officer, crime scene and narcotics unit detective, among other positions.

Welsh says he owes the force for giving him some of the best experiences of his life.

Welsh said he's worked two jobs in his entire life: As a retailer at the old Union Hall in Rockford, and for the Rockford Police Department.
