DEKALB - Thousands have gathered to help children affected by the typhoon devastation.

4,000 local volunteers are supporting Feed My Starving Children at the "Make A Difference" mobile packing event. The not-for-profit organization distributes meals in 70 countries across the globe.

The Sutter Company has teamed up with the organization to help back over 800,000 meals. Tim Sutter, President and CEO of Sutter Company, was on hand for the event.

"We feel like we have a responsibility to give back. And we just love the cause that Feed My Starving Children serves, and we want to be a part of that. It's a wonderful experience for our employees and our community."

The packaged meals are scientifically made for the specific needs of malnutritioned kids. Sutter says the food currently being packaged will go to children affected by typhoon Haiyan.
