New U.S. Murder Capital: Chicago

CHICAGO - The city of Chicago goes by a few nicknames, but the latest one isn't one to be proud of.

CHICAGO - The city of Chicago goes by a few nicknames, but the latest one isn't one to be proud of.

According to new crime statistics released by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, it could now be called the Murder Capital.

Chicago had more murders in 2012 than any other city in the country, 500 to be exact.  That number far exceeds second place New York, which had 419.
