ROCKFORD - RVC's campus electrical system is getting an overhaul.
The project calls for upgrades to the high voltage feeder and switch gear, plus associated conduit and wiring. Emergency lighting power systems and new natural gas fired generators will also be installed.
One of the benefits of the project? An influx of new construction jobs. "The improvements will provide immediate construction jobs and ensure that Rock Valley College remains an attractive place for students" says Sen. Steve Stadelman (D-34th).
The money is part of the Governor's $31 billion 'Illinois Jobs Now!' program.
