ROCKFORD -- A Rockford concealed carry meeting draws such a large crowd that security is forced to turn people away.

The League of Women Voters held the info session Monday night at the YWCA. Every single seat was taken, which means about 100 people attended the event.

The point of the meeting was to educate stateliners about the new law. State's Attorney Joe Bruscato says judging by the crowd, residents are really curious about it.

"This community wants to know what it's responsibilities are going to be whether they choose to be a citizen who's going to get a concealed carry permit or they choose to be a citizen who's not," said Bruscato.

Bruscato says he believes the concealed carry law will have a postive impact on the state as a whole and here in the Rockford area.
