Rockford Fire Department Battles Fires Hours Apart

The Red Cross helps nearly a dozen people after fires leave them homeless.

ROCKFORD- The Rockford Fire Department responds to two house fires just hours apart. The first blaze took place at 412 Underwood. That fire started in a bedroom and was brought under control quickly. One adult and two children are now displaced. The second fire happened at 324 Foster.

When crews arrived they found the fire located in the kitchen near the stove. The Red Cross relocated eight residents due to smoke and fire damage.

No injuries were reported in either fire.
