ROCKFORD - A man already in jail gets slapped with another crime.
DeMario Ware, 23, is now charged with the drug induced homicide of Kurt Hudson.
In September, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office investigated Hudson's death at 308 S. 4th St. in Malta. He died as a result of a heroin overdose. Investigators say the source of that heroin is Ware.
Ware was originally arrested last month after undercover officers setup a drug deal to buy heroin from Ware. After the deal, officers pursued Ware as he tried fleeing from police, but was arrested. He was found to be in possession of heroin, cash, and a 9mm handgun.
For that incident, he's charged with unlawful deliver of a controlled substance, intent to deliver, resisting, armed violence, and agg. unlawful use of a weapon.
Ware is currently in custody at the Winnebago County Jail with a bond of $100,000.
