Scheelhaase Leads Illini Romp

Nathan Scheelhaase's five touchdown passes led the Illini over Miami, Ohio Saturday.
CHAMPAIGN-The Fighting Illini have already topped their win total from last season. They boosted their record to 3-1 Saturday by romping over Miami, Ohio 50-14.

Nathan Scheelhaase threw five touchown passes, all in the first half. He completed 19 of 24 passes overall for 278 yards before taking a seat on the bench. 11 different Illini receivers caught passes.

Now the Illini get ready to open Big Ten play next Saturday against Nebraska.

"I'm happy with the way that we've moved forward, and now the real time comes your conference play, and that's what you work for and prepare for every year," said head coach Tim Beckman following the game.
