ROCKFORD - Stateline drivers' need for speed will have to wait at least one more day.

The Illinois Dept. of Transportation says an equipment failure is preventing crews from replacing speed limit signs with the new 70mph signs.  They were supposed to start with I-39 by Baxter Road Thursday.

IDOT tells Eyewitness News they expect their equipment to be fixed and the new signs should begin going up Friday morning.  Until then, drivers must abide by the posted speed limit.
