ROCKFORD - Gov. Pat Quinn makes a stop in the Forest City to ask residents to support veterans in an unusual way - by buying a lottery ticket.

More specifically, Quinn wants you to buy the Veterans Cash Lottery Ticket.  Quinn made his pitch at the Mobil gas station on Sandy Hollow.  All proceeds from the $2 ticket support veteran organizations across the state.

"Resources and funding for 218 organizations and community groups across Illinois who are providing help to our veterans" says Quinn.

Veterans Cash has generated more than $11 million in grants for veterans groups since 2006.
