Hogs P-K Unit Perks Up

The IceHogs sore point the penalty kill might not be a problem any more.
ROCKFORD-The IceHogs are coming off a productive week that saw them pick up four of a possible six points. The most encouraging sign was the way the team's penalty kill unit came around. The Hogs snuffed out all seven Iowa power plays last Sunday.

Over the last three games the P-K Unit has allowed only one goal in 15 short-handed situations.

"We really didn't change too much," said IceHogs coach Ted Dent to Eyewitness News. "I think we used a few different forwards up front to try and kill penalties. Mashinter, Alex Broadhurst, Terry Broadhurst, so we just tried some different guys, and I don't know if that's the solution, but we'll just stick with it and keep going.

The IceHogs will play at defending AHL Champion Grand Rapids on Friday. They'll host Milwaukee Saturday.
