Alexis Carpello joined Eyewitness News in July of 2019.

Alexis grew up in Darien, a south-western suburb of Chicago. Her passion for journalism began in high school where she was part of the school’s newspaper.

From that point she realized her passion was gathering news and sharing those stories with the public.

She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Journalism with a Broadcast concentration from Columbia College Chicago. During Alexis’ time at Columbia she was an anchor and reporter for the student Emmy-nominated newscast “Metro Minutes.”

Alexis believes that journalism is about giving a voice to the voiceless.

Alexis loves sports, specifically baseball, hockey and football. During her free time she’s most likely playing with her dog, binge watching ‘The Office’, or heading outside for a run.
