A native of the Chicago suburbs, Amri joined Eyewitness News in March 2022 as a reporter.
Amri’s love for journalism started in junior high when her school allowed students to give the morning announcements over the intercom. That’s when she realized she enjoyed storytelling.
Fast forward to college, Amri earned a basketball scholarship to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where she majored in Mass Communications.
During her time at SIUe, Amri was able to intern in St. Louis at KSDK NewsChannel 5. She also worked for the university newspaper and co-hosted a digital TV show. After school, Amri went on to 13WMAZ in Macon, Georgia serving as a multimedia producer. Then, back to St. Louis as a digital producer.
In her free time, Amri enjoys spending time with her family and friends, attending sporting events, sewing, and traveling. She’s also a proud dog mom of a Morkie (Yorkie and Maltese mix) named Tinker.
She is so excited to meet people around the community! If you have a story idea for her, feel free to email her at awilder@fox39.com.
