Drea Barone is a Chicago native and is excited to start her career in Rockford. 

A graduate of Loyola Academy, where she took her first journalism class and piqued her interest in the field, prompting her to pursue a Multimedia Journalism degree at Loyola University Chicago. There she worked as an anchor and reporter for the student-run broadcast show following Ramblers Athletics and fell in love with reporting. Drea interned at ESPN Radio for the remainder of her collegiate career before joining the Eyewitness News team in August 2023.

In her free time, Drea enjoys going to the beach, attending concerts, watching sports, and playing with her golden retriever, Champ, whose full name is ‘2016 World Series Champions.’ It’s safe to say she is a devoted Cubs fan.
