Rachael joined Eyewitness News in April 2021 as a reporter.
After spending time in Northern Wisconsin as a reporter at a broadcast station and local newspaper, she made the move home to Chicago. Rachael graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2021 where she majored in Journalism with a focus in investigative reporting and breaking news coverage. She led a team of journalists for her school magazine where she wrote a piece telling the story of inmates on death row and the letters she exchanged with them.
Her love for investigative work strives from her never-ending curiosity along with wanting to shed light on important issues for the community. Rachael believes that journalism is about the truth and reporting the facts to those impacted and is excited to meet the Stateline viewing area.
Aside from reporting, Rachael loves spending time with her two black labs, Gus and Earl, and can be found binge watching true crime shows. She enjoys going to Cubs games, exploring new places with her family and is a big fan of both country and old rock music. Rachael also has a passion for working within the disability community and assisting at a special education school.
She loves meeting new people, so please always feel free to say hi if you see her around or contact her with any story ideas!
