The Chicago Bears have re-signed veteran linebacker John Timu to a one-year contract.

Timu has played in 29 games for the Bears the past three seasons with nine starts, recording 53 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss and two fumble recoveries, both of which came in Week 16 at Tampa Bay in 2015. He started two games for the Bears last season in Week 3 vs. Pittsburgh and in Week 5 vs. Minnesota on Monday Night Football.

Timu has spent his entire three-year career with the Bears after signing as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington in 2015.
