Bengals outscore the Bears 30-27 in preseason action

The starters saw some action for the first time this preseason, but not for long and the Bears lost to the Bengals 30-27 Thursday night in Cincinnati.

Mitchell Trubisky made a brief appearance. He completed only two of four pass attempts for four years.  Chase Daniel connected on eigh tof 12 passes for 76 yards with one interception and Tyler Bray passed for 219 yards and an interception.

The best scoring play of the night was turned in by the Bears defense. Kyle Fuller returned a first half interception 47 yards for a touchdown. That was the only takeaway of the night for the Bears defenders. The Bears turned the ball over three times.

Ryan Nall was the Bears’ top rusher with 95 yards on nine carries. Taquan Mizzell plowed in for a one yard touchdown run. Tanner Gentry led all receivers with six catches for 54 yards. Adam Shaheen had some good moments. He had three receptions for 53 yards.

Andy Dalton threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Bengals.

The Bears next preseason game will be Saturday, August 18 at Denver.
