The Bears are using every path to try to find a capable kicker. This time they’ve gone the trade route getting kicker Eddy Pineiro from the Raiders for a conditional 7th round draft pick in 2021 according to numerous reports.

Pineiro has not attempted a field goal in a regular season NFL game. The 23 year old was signed by the Raiders last year as an undrafted free agent. He did go 3-3 in field goal attempts in the preseason, but he suffered a groin injury ending his season.

Pineiro kicked two seasons at the University of Florida. He made 38 of 43 field goal attempts. His .884 success rate set a school record. He made 29 of his final 30 attempts.

With the addition of Pineiro the Bears will have three kickers on their roster. The other two are Chris Blewitt and Elliott Fry.
