Karina Parada started with Eyewitness News in November of 2016.
Karina is from Streamwood, a northwest suburbs of Chicago. When she attended Streamwood High School, she was part of their weekly news program. There, she found her passion for news and went on to get her journalism degree at Northern Illinois University. Meanwhile, she also pursued a minor in Spanish and speaks the language fluently.
While at NIU, Karina was a reporter and producer for ‘NTC News Tonight’. She was also vice president of the school’s Students in the Illinois News Broadcasters Association (SINBA) chapter.
During her free time, Karina spends time with her dog Tucker and takes him on hikes. Some of her favorite memories are with her friends and family, who she’s very close with. She enjoys spending time in Chicago, especially watching the Cubs at Wrigley Field (while hoping for another World Series win!).
