Kevin Doom joined Eyewitness News in May of 2019 as the Weekend Meteorologist/Photojournalist. Kevin’s passion for weather came to him before he can even remember.
Born and raised in Joliet, IL, Kevin came to love all weather phenomena that the Midwest has to offer. From putting on mock weather shows for his family to fighting with his siblings over whether to watch cartoons or the Weather Channel, Kevin could never seem to get enough of the weather.
This passion led him to pursue a degree in meteorology from Northern Illinois University. While in college, Kevin conducted award winning research projects, interned with the National Weather Service and at WGN-TV, and won NIU’s 2019 Weathercaster of the Year Award. Kevin graduated from NIU in May of 2019 with a B.S. in Meteorology, a B.S. in Geography, and a minor in Applied Mathematics.
Aside from the weather, Kevin loves listening to and playing music and watching baseball and hockey, particularly his favorite teams: the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. He also loves any outdoor activity, an interest he acquired on the road to becoming an Eagle Scout. Now, Kevin is thrilled to be a part of the Eyewitness News Team and begin the career he’d always hoped for.
