Residents defeated a measure to help bring improvements to the three school districts in Carroll County.

Voters on Tuesday night rejected the 1% sales tax referendum for the fifth time.  It was expected to bring in about $210,000.  It would’ve been used exclusively for the purpose of renovating school facilities.

This comes after a recent property tax hike.  Officials stressed it could’ve been cut in half if the referendum had passed.
