Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) easily defeats his primary opponent and will represent the republicans in the General Election.

The Associated Press is reporting Kirk defeated James Marter.

He’ll move on to the November election.  Many political analysts consider Kirk as one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the Senate.  He won in 2010 by less than 2% in a non-presidential year.
