It’s the sweetest charity event you’ll ever see.
Thursday marked the 10th year of the Chocoholic Frolic. Hundreds packed Cliffbreakers to try delectable treats from chocolate cookies, to chocolate covered strawberries, and even the chocolate fountain.
The event is one of two yearly fundraisers for the ARC of Winnebago, a non-profit agency that provides services for those with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Organizers say with potential changes to health coverage on the federal level, the fundraiser is especially important.
“We’re watching very carefully what’s happening right now because all of the individuals that are funded through that program could really be heavily affected if there’s any changes to the Medicare, Medicaid, or the Affordable Care Act,” said Amy Newell, Director of the ARC.
The second big fundraiser the ARC does is the Great Dream Machine, that’ll be held in April.
