124 Overdose Deaths in Winnebago County in 2017

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office released its overdose statistics for 2017 on Wednesday, showing there were a total of 124 overdose deaths involving 42 drugs last year.

The most common drugs in the system of those who died as a result of an overdose were fentanyl (63 cases), heroin (55) and cocaine (54).

The age group most impacted was victims between the ages of 40-49, at 40 deaths. 74 of the 124 deaths were men. 100 of the 124 were Caucasian.
