The family of an NIU student who died during a fraternity hazing incident receives a $14 million settlement.

The settlement is between David Bogenberger’s family and Pi Kappa Alpha.

In 2012, authorities say he was required to drink alcohol as part of his pledge.  A fraternity member then moved Bogenberger into a bedroom after he passed out.  A toxicology report revealed his blood alcohol content at fives times the legal limit for driving.

Nearly two dozen fraternity members pleaded guilty to criminal charges in connection to Bogenberger’s death.
