14-year-old felon charged with shooting house on 19th Street

A 14-year-old male juvenile with a criminal past has been charged with shooting at a house in the 1000 block of 19th Street.

Rockford Police say they received a call of multiple shots being fired and a house being struck by gunfire. The house was occupied at the time.

Officers made contact with the juvenile suspect, who was allegedly found to be in possession of a firearm. He was taken into custody.

He was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, No FOID card and a Curfew Violation.

He was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
