150 Years of Serving the Lord & Belvidere

One local church is marking a major milestone in it’s congregation.
Members of the Immanuel Lutheran church of Belvidere spent Sunday celebrating their 150 year anniversary.
Leaders opened their doors with a “Worship As One” service inside Belvidere North’s high school gym.
Guest Pastor of the church, Allan Buss, addressed the audience describing the struggles for the original German Settlers of the church.
Interim Pastor Roger Pollock says so much has happened in their last 150 years, they’re optimistic about the future that lies ahead. The church was officially formed November 21st, 1869 by a handful of German Lutheran families, their congregation has since swelled to five worship sites with over 2,000 members.
