A Sterling teenager is dead following a two car crash in Polo Tuesday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., a vehicle traveling westbound on Henry Road failed to stop at the intersection of Rt. 26, and was hit by a vehicle heading northbound, which was not required to stop. Both vehicles ended up in the westbound ditch after the collision.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, Stevie Thomas, 18, of Sterling, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, a 16-year-old Dixon girl, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the northbound car, Klint Singley, 42, of Polo, was also taken to a local hospital. Both are expected to survive.
The crash remains under investigation.
