Two elderly German men, who escaped from a nursing home to attend a heavy metal music festival, had their plans foiled by police.

According to WGN, the men were found by police around 3 a.m. on August 4th after being reported missing by staff at a retirement home in Dithmarschen. The two men were making their way to the Wacken Open Air heavy metal festival.

Police say they escorted the men’s taxi back to the retirement home “as a precaution.”

Wacken Open Air is billed as the largest three day celebration of heavy metal music, with an estimated 75,000 attendees this year.

Bands such as Judas Priest, Danzig and Nightwish performed at this, the 29th annual festival.
