DeKalb Police have arrested 20-year-old Tyler Brown for breaking into a house in the middle of the night and beating the homeowner.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they were called to a house in the 28900 block of Five Points Road in Kingston around 1:25 a.m. Sunday morning, on the report of a home invasion.

When they arrived, the suspect, Brown, fled through a cornfield in his pickup truck. Brown was arrested when his truck got stuck in a ditch trying to get back onto Five Points Road.

Deputies learned that Brown, allegedly drunk, tried to kick in the front door of the house before gaining entry through the garage. Police say that, once inside, he went up stairs and battered the homeowner by punching him in the face, choking him, and biting him on the ear.

Brown was arrested for Home Invasion, Criminal Trespass to a Residence, Battery, DUI, Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol, and Reckless Driving.

He was then taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
