Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz has identified 25-year-old Zachary Reyes as the man shot and killed in the Auburn Street Taco Bell parking lot on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Reyes and a 37-year old female were in a vehicle in the parking lot.

Both were taken to the hospital.   Reyes was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.

The woman is in serious, but non-life threatening condition.

Police say this incident does not appear to be random.
