A 45-year-old New York man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot his 11-year-old Fortnite rival.
The Suffolk County Police Department said Michael Aliperti allegedly made the threats by text and voice messages through Xbox after the boy beat him in a match.
According to ABC News, Aliperti told the boy he would shoot him, “possibly at his school.”
Aliperti was arrested Tuesday and was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child.
Fortnite has become a cultural phenomenon since it was released last year.
