60-Year-Old Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Girlfriend’s Son

A man has been arrested for a Monday night shooting.

Algie Williams, 60, of Rockford, is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Police say on Monday night, shortly before 8 p.m., they were called to a home in the 3200 block of Garfield Avenue for a 41-year-old who had been shot in the basement of the apartment. Also in the home was the victim’s mother and Williams, who is her boyfriend. All three live in the home.

The victim had suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder and was taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive.
