9 U.S. Pregnant Women Infected With Zika Virus

Government health officials say Zika infections have been confirmed in nine pregnant women here in the U.S.

They say all of them contracted the virus overseas.  Three babies have been born, but one has a brain defect.  The Centers For Disease Control also reports two pregnancies ended in a miscarriage, but it’s not clear if Zika was the cause.

Two women had abortions.

So far, more than 80 Americans have been diagnosed with Zika.  All of them got it while traveling in outbreak regions.
