A public exchange goes wrong; man is shot after trying to sell a cell phone

Police respond to a shooting on Sunday November 11 around 4 a.m. near Church and Whitman Street.

Upon arrival, police learn the male victim met with two men in the area to sell a cell phone. The victim entered the suspects’ car and handed them the cell phone. One suspect pointed a gun and the victim fought back. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects were described as black males in their 20’s, 5’10”-6′. The suspects’ car was described as a newer black sedan.
